What's New for
QuickBooks Point of Sale Version 10

-
QBPOS V10 Overview
On September 27th, 2010 Intuit released QBPOS
Version 10. This version represented a major
departure from prior versions in terms of the user
interface, a restructuring of the product license
levels that are available and even the removal of
certain feature functions.
While the removal of many functions was problematic,
V10R5 brought back much of what we needed and is a
great start.
Great News - QBPOS V10R9!
V10R9 shows great promise over the initial release
of V10.
A quick looks shows:
Sales receipt
column customization have been returned
- Custom
filters for some lists have returned
Some keyboard shortcuts are added or back
Many little things fixed that were never a
big deal
A form of list edit is back
A form of select from list is back
Practice Mode is back
-
At SDG Business Solutions, we would like to thank
Intuit for these enhancements.
What We Would Love to See in a Future Release
Following is our list of the top
5 features and tools that we think current users may
still want back for V10
Open Windows
- In the new version you can't have
multiple windows open. That means you can't
run a report and switch over to make a sale unless
you close out of the report(s). And it is not
limited to reports. There is a new function
called "Switch To" that will preserve some
information, but it is not quite the same. We
hope to have a training video up soon on Swith To.
Customers and Sales Screen - While
you can drill down to the customer from the sales
screen, much of the information that was previously
presented for you is no longer there. Rewards
status, account balance and even the option to enter
a purchase order number for tracking as a company
have been removed.
Status Bar - Along the bottom of
the screen had long been a bar that was filled with
useful information, including that you had reminders
to deal with, the logged in user, list count
information (though that is displayed on the list
screen now) what workstation you were on and more.
This is now gone
